Week 45: Baptism of Sister Jayann

Image
Kumusta,       Mauri from Libon.  This week was awesome because we had a baptism on Saturday!  Everything went well even if it was really difficult to get to the other side.  It was good but the way is so far and risky because we travel the highway and the road is circling side by side and it's steep up and down.  I am kind of scared of the way the vehicles passed.  But thanks to Heavenly Father and His guidance during this time.  Everything was good.  We have a baptism in the sea and the members and leaders were able to come.  We were able to get all the permit papers to have a baptism.        We had a delicious lunch after the baptism.  I really miss this fish because I used to eat it in Kiribati.  Usually we always eat chicken, pig, and eggs everyday so I didn't think I was going to like it but right now I am getting used to liking it.  We also had a soup of eggplant.  Here there are so many eggplants and it is so easy to buy in the market because they have big farms.  We a

Week 44: In the Lord's Timing

Kumusta,      This week was a very special week.  You want to know why!! Let's go.  We were able to visit one of our friends.  Sister Cristen had been taught by the missionaries and desired to be baptized .  As we get there to ask permission from her parent, but her father wasn't there at that time.  So her mum was there, the thing is they are not members but willing to listen to hear the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Her mum wasn't ready yet to let her daughter get baptized.  So we felt so sorry for Sister Cristen but we understand that because she is busy working and sometimes her mum hasn't been able to stop and listen to us only her daughter Cristen, her younger sister, and friends.  I can say that she is ready but God has his own time for her and her family.  She is keeping all the commitments, reading the Book of Mormon, and she really knows how to pray.        Anyway besides that, we went to visit Jayann.  She would have been baptized earlier but bec

Week 43: Hello Libon Ward

Kumusta,      The work is on fire and I am in the Libon Ward.  We are having 2 companions that means there are three of us.  The work is awesome that we always try to talk to many people as much as possible.  It is so interesting how Heavenly Father really is helping us in this work.       I arrived last Sunday when I transferred from Guinobatan.  It is really funny when I explained about my third area called Guinobatan.  I joked "my 3rd area is Guinobatan in my dream during the lockdown till now".. Haha...  But my companion and I see the future in Guinobatan so last Monday we were crying as we left our last area.  It is ok because right now we have a new family in Libon. It seems that I am going to love the people here.  There are some people we have been teaching through our high tech . . . keypad cellphone. Haha.  The spirit was so strong.       Right now we work with new people everyday.  We share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Yesterday was awesome because we have a c

Week 42: The Work Rolls Forth During the Pandemic

Kumusta,      Right now I am in my new area.  We just arrived yesterday.  I just got transferred to Guinobatan with my same companion, Elder Dalauta.  We are in the Libon branch.   We are still companions and are going to open this area because some missionaries have finished their missions.  It seems like there are only a few missionaries left right now in Legazpi.  The work is awesome!  We are still using our digital keypad cellphone.       I am so sorry for just replying to your right now (2:00am in the US) because it is so hard to get online.  I hope you understand and sorry if I make typing errors.  It has been a long time since I never use a computer.  My hands are so good in digital keypad phone.  We haven't got a smart cellphone.  We have been training now so we can be ready for this coming summer.  Hopefully we will be able to get out among the people.      We have been teaching many people on our cellphone.  As you know I can find more people to teach now than before
