Week 54: Fed By the Spirit

 Kumusta,

This week we have been traveling to one of our fellow missionaries.  We had exchanges in virtual call and it was so cool to see the other areas in my district still progressing.  They had 2 baptisms last week and this week as well.  We are still praying that Sister Zairah will be able to answer our calls this week so we could be able to still review her lessons.  For this new September we will baptize her.  The work here is really slow.

It was really cool seeing the devotional last week with my fellow missionaries, especially Elder and Sister Wakolo from the Area Presidency.  I learn I have a lot to learn from them.  One thing that I learn is that we will become master teachers if we focus our study in the Preach My Gospel and the Book of Mormon, memorize scriptures from the Book of Mormon and from the Bible that relate to our lessons we have been teaching from the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We were so grateful for the time and the day that God has given us especially the good health that we have each day.  My companion and I are doing good and still looking for some other ways to find more people to teach.  We do have a new referral from our investigator and she's really interested in the gospel.  Her name is Sister Joy.  She's been listening with Sister Zairah habang nagtuturo po kami sila.  We are still trying to find more members and other friends to contact because we have been trying to them in messages and also in calling.

This week I am in the Book of Alma Chapter 8.  In this chapter, Alma was cast out by the peoples of Ammoniah.  He was trying to go to another place to preach feeling sad and sorrow because of the wickedness of the people of Ammoniah.  While the angel appeared unto him saying to return back.  For what I am really impressed is that how the angel appeared to Alma for the second time and that's how he was strengthened by God to go back over there.  God provided another man, a Nephite, whose name is Amulek.  To refer this to our life - most of the time we have met many angels and it's like more than 50 or 100 times angels have spoken to us through God and his prophets.  Those angels warn us, instruct us, or even help us in times of sorrow, sickness, and when we were lost.  They guide us.  One of the most important things that God warn us through His angels is by the mouth of his servants.  In the church we have leaders and they instruct and give warning.  They tell us to follow the prompting of the Holy Spirit in doing good and being a good example to everyone.

I like the end of this chapter that Alma was able to convert many people even as he works with Amulek side by side as we have companions.  I truly know that God's love is fair and he works through the faith of men like Alma and Amulek.  I know if we give our whole heart to him even though we have our weaknesses, God will do the rest and will make things stronger even in the small things we are doing in missionary work.  We all know that Alma before rebelled against the church but in his story, he converted many people and we could do the same as well in the field.  We meet many people who are more likely to rebel against God's word.  If we open our mouth to this people by the power of the Holy Spirit, they will be converted and God will use those people as a powerful people to help this work move forward.  I know that the Book of Mormon is true.  I know these things are true.  I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Picture with Ligao Elders while we were staying with them for one night.  They are good examples for me and everyone.  They are diligently working missionaries in our district.  They have been baptizing many people during this pandemic period.
