Week 27: 6 Month Mark

Kumusta po sa indong gabos/Mauri ni kabane ngkamii,
This week was so brang mabilis which means fast.  Hindo ko naniniwala.  I can't believe that February is almost over.  On Tuesday and Wednesday, it was so brang mahinit which means hot just like my home but I guess that is was worser than my island.  Maybe because we are so close to Mount Mayon the volcano.  On Thursday we led the district council meeting and the Holy Spirit was so strong.  We could see that we are way closer to our goals and the work in our district is on fire.  We make sure that each and every one of us are still in line with the goals we set each weekly planning and according to the revelation that President Abraham received for our mission.  Beside that we do the workshop in ways to find peoples to teach and what can we do to increase new peoples.  It is so important to us as God's servants to help each other in order to improve and make the work go well each day.

On Thursday, we visited one of our progressing investigators, Nanay Linda.  We have been looking for ways to help the nanay find inspired questions by the prompting of the Holy Spirit so she can open up to us because we know that she has an ice berg that we need to see.  The craziest thing here was she was able to share her concern and we find out the reason that she never comes to church.  She was afraid to lose friends and so forth.  That is really hard for her too because she says that she believes the Book of Mormon and the prophet, etc.  That is her main concern so we need to find more lessons and inspired questions for her.

For Sister Elsi, the one who comes to church with her two kids, she is progressing but right now we invited her to come to District Conference but she says sorry that it is so hard for her because she will have to travel with her three kids.  She has a two month old gorgeous baby girl and we understand her problem.

With Tatay Arcencio, as we visit him he's always busy cooking and says he has many things to do going to his second house.  He has two houses and we are still looking for his second house.  We haven't found it among the buildings with bunch of house like he tells us.

Our lesson with the Borangay family fell through because they are always busy in our appointment time.  They ask us to return but we are still looking forward to come again.  Same with the other new families near Nanay Linda.

So we will see what the future holds here in our area.  I am so excited to work for the next week.  Beside that we are going to have a zone conference this coming week.  Our district is preparing to sing "Go and Do" from the 2020 youth theme.  (Side note:  Elder Bateiti learned that Elder Theo Magalogo, an actor in the youth theme video, is currently serving his mission in Kiribati.  In talking with the Gutierrez family, we were able to send the sheet music to the song so they could practice for their performance at Zone Conference.)

- Elder Bateiti

Having lunch in a nice simple restaurant.  So delicious when we just come back from working for lunch time

After crossing the river, my shoes get wet again.  I fall while walking on the rocks.  One accidentally moved and so I fell in the water.  I try to dry my socks and clean the sand but it's all good.  It is really fun visiting Binitayan area.  The hardest place to get to but has the nicest members and people out in the remote area.

Elder Bateiti hit his 6 month mark this week.

Video Chat with the Gutierrez Family - trying to get the sheet music for "Go and Do" to Elder Bateiti so he can print it.
