Week 26: Every Member A Missionary

Mauri Everyone!
I had many highlights for this week and I really want to share about my exchange with Elder Dustin (American Yuda).  Last Wednesday, we decide to have a tracting in Binitayan area.  When we got there, we were so amazed to find two members that were sick and two separate households.   They ask for a blessing and we asked them, "Are you sure you need a blessing?".  They said yes so we offered them a blessing.  After that I just realized that last Sunday they didn't show up at the church.  It seems like this area has a flu sickness spreading after a heavy rainfall last week. We were able to talk with Arcencio's wife because she is the only one welcoming us in.  She was telling us about her husband got sick and that he is in the hospital.

We met a lady named Josephine.  She is 70+ and she told us many things about her background.  She had been in many churches until now she is in the born again religion.  It seems that we almost spend 1 hour so I was prompted to ask her to say a prayer.  She was so happy.  That is why we had a small prayer with her.  She was so happy that we could all pray with her for her husband.  She is nice and we tell her that we can come back again and she said yes.

Last Saturday, we had a one day mission activity with the members.  I just found out that there are only a few priesthood holders in this area.  We only had five men who come to the church for the one day mission activity and a few women.  The majority of the members are women in my area.  Elder Cabatingan and I work with only two young boys at the age of 17-18.  The other young ladies worked with a Sister RM who just finished her mission.  They worked in the other area nearby where we were working.  They are from this area but they aren't familiar with it.  Haha!  We talked with many peoples and we found one couple near the waterfall.  It takes one hour to get there.  We were able to share a lesson about principle one how the gospel blesses the family and individuals.

The highlight of my week was our new investigator named Elsi.  She attended the sacrament meeting yesterday with two kids named JL and Princess.  Beside that we visited Nanay Linda.  She is reading 2 Nephi Chapter 4 but she has concerns.  She never comes to the church but we are still visiting her and following up on commitments with her.  As far as Sister Maricel, we never get to see her because she is so busy at working.

I have a favorite scripture to share with you that was given to me by some friends.  I still read it in my personal reading.  Alma 37:  32-37, "And now, my son, remember the words which I have spoken unto you; trust not those secret plans unto this people, but teach them an everlasting hatred against sin and iniquity.  33 - Preach unto them repentance, and faith on the Lord Jesus Christ; teach them to humble themselves and to be meek and lowly in heart; teach them to withstand every temptation of the devil, with their faith on the Lord Jesus Christ.  34 - Teach them to never be weary of good works, but to be meek and lowly in heart; for such shall find rest to their souls.  35- O, remember, my son, and learn wisdom in thy youth; yea, learn in thy youth to keep the commandments of God.  36 - Yea, and cry unto God for all thy support; yea, let all thy doings be unto the Lord, and whithersoever thou goest let it be in the Lord; yea, let all thy thoughts be directed unto the Lord; yea, let the afflictions of thy heart be placed upon the Lord forever.  37 - Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let they heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day".

Another favorite scripture, D&C 18:  14-16 "Wherefore, you are called to cry repentance unto this people. 15 - And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, now great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!  16 - And now, if your joy will be great with one soul that you have brought unto me into the kingdom of my Father, how great will be your joy if you should bring many souls unto me!"

Last, Moroni 10:23 "And Christ truly said unto our fathers:  If ye have faith ye can do all things which are expedient unto me".

I think that's all I have for this week.  Love you all.

Finding 2 new people in the jungle area.  We found one family nearby the waterfall.  It was so beautiful.  We were tempted to swim so we just took a picture and immediately leave the waterfall.  Haha!

Our group after the one day mission activity.  The Sister in the front is Mikah and she is an RM that helped us.
