Week 87: New Assignment - Supply Elder

 Good morning po,

     I just wanted to tell you that I am transferred to the city and I am becoming a supply Elder.  We will travel and will not really talk much on pday.  Remember me in your prayers.  Love you all.  We have to go and drop some other missionaries off in their new areas because transfer day is in process.

Week 121: Quarantine and Applying to BYU-Pathways

      I'm so tired of quarantine but I use my time in calling my family and friends.  I have received an email that there would be chance or another way that I can apply in the enrollment to BYU-Pathways.  Here is what GWilliam responded to me.   Elder Bateiti,       Yes, you do need to take the English Test online.  Is it possible that the quarantine facility can provide you a computer for a few hours with Internet connection?  Then you can register and take the test so you don't miss the deadline of December 15th.  I've copied President Markus on this as well, in case he knows if that is possible.    If not, then we'll contact the Area Manager and ask her to allow a late application.  I would suggest that we get the application started up to the point where you take the test.  You should be able to do this on your phone.  Use this link and select apply now.  Then choose the yellow color...

Week 19: 1st Baptism - Sister Mary Jovielyn

Kumusta,      So this week was Christmas and everyone are been busy for the Christmas parties.  One of the Filipino Christmas traditions is a long line marching in the road and drummer mens beating drums with songs about Christmas.  They carry a statue of Mama Mary that they decorate it.  They all wear Santa Claus.  This January 8th we are gonna have a mission conference and celebrate Christmas.  President wanted us to sent the pictures at our service time helping others after the typhoon.  We are still looking forward to conference because I am gonna meet and see two Kiribati Sisters who are going back in January to return with honor.       There have been so many rains in my area.  I just got my first baptism last Saturday.  I am so blessed to have this opportunity to baptize Sister Mary Jovielyn.  I know that God will prepare those who are in thirst of His words if I live worthy and keeping His commandments...

Week 1: The Field is White

Kumusta, (Hello)      I am excited to go to my mission field as I know that the field is white already!  Life here is like celestial.  Anyways, I am trying my best as I can with the power of the Holy Spirit.  Last night we listened to Elder Smoot.  He shared some good testimonies which make my eyes burst with tears.  I want to be one with my kasama (companion).  I find in D&C 38:27 to be one.  I also find out all about the spirit in 2 Nephi 2:5.  All the scriptures I get to see through my studies are so helpful to me and also for my purpose in being a missionary.  Kahil means without the holy spirit and without studying the scriptures and the missionary handbook, I will be far away from my purpose.     In the Philippines, it has many population and it amazed me.  It is shows in the street as well many traffic.  It is the most beautiful country I have ever see with lots of vegetables and food.  T...
